Prayer Part VI
In this blog we will be looking at thankful and praising prayer.
One thing that we need to remember is that no matter how our prayers may be answered we still need to be thankful, and we need to praise God and give Him the glory for it. Remember that it everything that God has our best interest.
Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.
As we continue in prayer, we should be anticipating the answer with Thanksgiving. If we are already thankful when the prayer is answered, then thankfulness will abound no matter what the answer is. We might not be happy about the answer but remember our life does not revolve around happiness but the joy that is found in Jesus Christ. So, when the prayer is not answered the way, we would have it to be answered we can still be thankful to God and give Him the paise that is due no matter what the outcome may be.
Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Here is another verse showing us that we should give thanks to God for all things, and all means all and that is all that all means.
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
The word careful here once again means anxious. When we truly trust God, we will not be anxious, and that is hard because there are times that I get anxious, but that is a reminder to me that I am not trusting God the way that I should. Here is s the Thanksgiving once again, already knowing that God is going to answer our prayers according to His will, which will always be in our best interest.
Psalm 35:18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
Be thankful to God and give Him the praise that He is worthy of, not just in private but around other people. When people see that you are thankful to God, and that you praise him, no matter what life circumstances has brought you it will lift them up.
Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Joyfulness will rub off on other people and then they will want to know what the difference in your life that makes you so happy even when your life is full of trouble.
Remember, the joy of the Lord is our strength.
