We Will Not Bow

In Daniel 3, we see quite the predicament. Nebuchadnezzar had a statue built of himself that was gold, ninety feet high, and nine feet wide and everyone bowed to it when they heard the music play.

There were three young Hebrews named Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah otherwise known as: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that was refused to bow to the golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar.

When Nebuchadnezzar found out, he was furious, and he said if you do not bow, I will throw you into the fiery furnace.

Then they replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

He had the fire heated up seven times hotter and then had them thrown into the fiery furnace that was so hot that it burned up soldiers that got close. When he looked in there, he could see a fourth man loose that look like the Son of God.

Nebuchadnezzar called them to come forth out of the fire; not a hair on their head was singed, their clothes did not smell like fire, and they were perfectly OK.

Daniel 3:28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

God delivered them out of the fiery furnace for being faithful.

What this show me?

  • We live in a woke world that is trying to force their agenda upon us, we can see through this passage that we do not have to bend, nor bow to them, but be faithful to God. We need to have the attitude that we find in this passage. We know that God is able to deliver us, but even if he does not, we will not bend nor bow.
  • When they were in captivity, and they still prospered through God. There might have been trials, tribulations, and tough times, but God took care of them, even when they were in the fire.

Remember, Keep looking up and keep pushing ahead for God is good.
