The Rapture Part III
The first view of the rapture that we will be looking at is the Partial Rapture View.
The believers that hold to this view believe that the rapture is Pre-Tribulation, but in their view, only the faithful Christians will be raptured out but the unfaithful Christians will be left behind.
To back up their view they use scriptures such as:
- Genesis 5:24, And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him, coupled with Hebrews 11:5, By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. They say that because Enoch was obedient that is why he was caught up. This view is very problematic because these verses are taken completely out of context for the story of Enoch has nothing to do with the rapture.
- They will also use the story of the ten virgins found in Matthew 25:1–13. This story talks about how they were ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom, five were ready but five were not. The five who did not have enough oil for their lamps went to buy oil and why they were gone the bridegroom, Jesus, came and the five that were ready went with Him. They try to say that the five unprepared virgins represent unfaithful Christians that will be left behind when in fact, they are actually the unsaved and this is why they missed the bridegroom coming, Jesus, at the rapture.
For those who hold to the view that there is a partial rapture and that only the faithful Christians are raptured but the unfaithful Christians are left behind, here is why it is problematic:
- There are absolutely no verses found on this view. Every single passage which speaks of the rapture says that all believers regardless of their faithfulness will be caught up. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. In verse 51 it clearly states that we shall all be changed. All means all and that is all that all means.
- 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. This says that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, not just the faithful.
Remember, there are no distinctions made between the faithful and the unfaithful believers.
- If you are not a believer today, then you will be left behind when the rapture happens. If you have never placed your trust in Christ, contact us and we can show you through the Bible what you must do to be born again
- Christians remember, we must be about the Fathers business, fulfilling, the great commission.
