The Rapture Part I
In today’s blog, we are going to start talking about the rapture. The rapture is something that Christians look forward to of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ returning for us one day. A day for Christians when all of life’s troubles will be over. The Bible says that the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
One thing that we do know is that the return of Christ is imminent. How do we explain Imminent? It is like living in Texas. We have a lot of days where it is cloudy and it looks like it is going to rain, we know that it is imminent that it will rain, but we do not know when. On the days that it gets darker and darker because of the cloud coverage and the storms seem to be building up, we prepare for those storms by carrying umbrellas and maybe a raincoat.
As Christians, we know that Jesus is coming back for us one day. As a matter fact, Jesus said that He went to prepare a place for us. John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Standing on the promises of Christ our King. We sing the song from the hymnbooks, but do we truly stand on the promises? Do you realize why it is so important to stand on the promises, because when times get hard and life gets rough, we know that no matter what that God has us covered. Listen to this verse that most people know nothing about found in the Word of God.
Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Do you realize what this verse is telling us? It is saying that no matter how bad things may seem, how bad things are, or how bad things may get; God will take care of us. We might not have exactly what we would like to eat or how much we would like to have the eat but if you are one of God’s through His Son Jesus Christ, He will take care of you.
Therefore, when Jesus said that that He would come back again for us, we can take that to the bank and deposit it for that is a check that will not bounce.
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, when I look upon His face the one who saved me by His grace. When he takes me by the hand and leads me through the promised land, what a day glorious day that will be.
Two questions:
- Have you put your trust in Jesus Christ? You can never stand on the promises until you are in Jesus Christ.
- If you have put your trust in Jesus Christ, are you standing on the promises? Do you read enough of the Word of God to know the promises of the Bible?
