Prayer Part V

In this blog we will be looking at specific prayer.

Specific prayer is prayer that is clearly defined, precise, and exact. To many times we pray amiss, and it is for very selfish things that will be consumed on our lust. There are burdens; sickness, financial, children and grandchildren, and so forth that should take priority, but we forget unless it is right in front of us.

James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

We need to pray at a specific time. Set up a time for your prayer closet time, set an alarm, and keep it. Jesus gave us specific instructions on how to pray now we need to make sure that we are praying regularly and specifically.

Matthew 20:29-34 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

These two blind men were not only determined but they were specific. They were rebuked, but they cried out even more. Then when Jesus asked them, they specifically told them what they desired Him to do.

Pray for specific people.
Philippians 1:4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy.

Pray for specific needs.                                                                                                                        1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Pray for specific outcomes.                                                                                                     James 5:17-18 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Remember that God wants to hear from us. Do not ask amiss for we have a heavenly Father who loves us.
