Prayer Part VII

In this blog we will be finishing up looking at prayer.

In this series, we saw how the most neglected thing in the church, the Cinderella of the church today is prayer. We looked at why we should pray, the model prayer that Jesus gave us, determined prayer, specific prayer, and praise giving with thankfulness prayer. Prayer is so essential to the Christian life.

Remember, God is Omniscient and knows our needs before we even ask for them. He is loving, kind, and full of blessings but He wants to hear from us, and He wants that close personal walk with him.

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, yedouble minded.

You draw nigh to God through prayer.

Pray consistently. There must be a specific time when you meet with God. If the only time that you pray is when you feel like it, then it will not be often.

  • We must pray morning, noon, and night.

Psalm 55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

  • We must pray whether we feel like it or not.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

  • We must not give up on praying just because we do not see instant results.

Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Continue in prayer and see what God can and will do.
